For all the plate variations out there, bubblecap, valved, perforated etc.

On a plated column still what would happen if the bottom cap plate you had a very high down comer say 6 in [ or none, would it make a difference ] would it act like a small thumper under the column
If its free pick it up

Hey Aussie, you would need a riser the same height as the downcomer for a bath depth. LWTC has done some, I've been looking into it for a while now, there seems to be different views on how good they work, some say there good, some say there crap. Gas on did an interesting one also, I think Myles has done them to?.

You might have trouble with vapor bypass up the downcomer, a you are going to need some vapor speed/pressure to make it work with 6" of fluid on the plate.
