Silver colour on bubble plates

Postby Foxfire » Wed May 20, 2015 11:13 am

I have recent seen a BW wash that caused a silver coloured stain on the plates and caps. Any idea what caused this?

I was able to get it off with citric acid.

I have seen this before running cleaning runs when fluxes have been used, or, where the copper has been real dirty.

it's a reaction to the wash, why ??... I haven't seen the silver colour but I have noticed a black scum after soaking in citric acid for cleaning, clean up you still with a scorer then do a 50/50 vinegar run for 30 mins then turn off your cooling water and vinegar steam for about 20 mins on a slow steam, empty that out and steam with water for around 30 mins, this should clean her up.
