Cleaning run question

Postby Fraser » Wed Jun 28, 2017 12:23 am

I'm just wondering what the general consensus is regarding the cleaning run. After you completely clean your still, what do you do later on if you get a new component for it? Like a new condenser or modular section. I wouldn't think an entire new cleaning run would be appropriate with another entire sacrificial run just for that one new component.

What do you guys do? Just soak it in a cleanser? Thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

A cleaning run is just that, for a new fabricated system to be cleaned of all fabrication left over debris and and junk, I would say the addition of the new part for s/s unit I would just run it through the dishwasher, however for a hand fabricated copper section I would set it up in its simplest form and do a short series of small runs just to make sure it is clean enough to go into action. :obscene-drinkingcheers:
