all grain setup

Postby Spud1700 » Sun Mar 17, 2013 7:10 pm

A couple of fellas asked me if I could help them with there setup - I have no idea with beer so it came down to just doing what I was told, cut the top out of that, weld the bushes in here, weld the angle there to make the frame etc.

As I said I have no idea how it works, needs to have the hoses put on it etc.

I think it looks pretty good, all the bits he improted from the US. I know it cost him a lot for the bits. Lots of work in it and I'm not keen on doing another one, luckily I don't drink beer :)

The first one is spare, part of the stand, I suggested the top should have been let on it and an elec element left in it and it could have had a still put on it. I am going to have a look at it when it is all set up and running when they do a brew.

Can I ask how long does it take to do a run and how much beer would you get per run. Obviously the beer made with this thing is a lot better than the kit stuff?

Top shelf craft beer is easily possible and "should" taste way way netters than kit and kilo sugar....

You could easily make a 10-12gal batch with that and it takes all of the hard work out of it. It makes my canning pot and igloo cooler mash tun look shameful.

I like the use of the kegs as a stand. Thats real cool.. Waste of a couple of hard to get kegs but cool all the same.
Looks like keg 1 is Hot liquor tank keg 2 in Mash ton and keg 3 is a Boil kettle. Nice work!

Cheers
Jay
