A boiler/kettle topic.

Postby cacticlayton » Sat Jul 13, 2013 11:49 am

What do you guys think about a boiler/kettle forum topic? I for one would like to see anything boiler/kettle condensed into one section instead of all over the place.

+1 from me on that one. That was the hardest thing for me to decide how i wanted to build my own because info was just all over the place. Fantastic idea.

What about renaming the accessories sub forum " Boilers/accessories" I think that should be sufficient

+1 on the dedicated boiler area :handgestures-thumbupright:
There are so many considerations, use/product, optimal size, heating and features it is almost an art in itself.
I thought gas burners seemed relatively simple, after all every grill/barbeque has one, but to maximize efficiency it is almost a black art.

I have been torn on this topic since I read it. After much thought on this I believe that since boilers are common to all stills a separate topic is not needed, for the following reasons.
1. A boiler is a boiler. A pot or reflux it is the same only size changes.
2. The main thing that separate them is heating. Gas or electric.
3. Almost every build project discussed in this forum says something about a boiler at some point and time.
4. Most needed information is in Show us your rig and How to build.

I would have to disagree for the following reasons;
1. It would be nice to have boiler builds in one place.
2. There are so many different types of boilers/ different things you can turn into a boiler.
3. Why not, we are only asking to rename the Accessories sub forum to Boilers and Accessories. Which I personaly think was a great idea.
4. Im building a boiler right now and am looking for inspiration, :grin:

I agree with you C. I believe having all of the boiler threads in one place would make it much easier for someone to research. :handgestures-thumbupright:
