High pressure clamps?

Postby Fraser » Wed Jun 07, 2017 1:28 am

Is there any practical purpose to using high pressure clamps instead of using tri-clamps? The high pressure clamps came with my still and they'll be a pain to bolt together and take apart when I'm setting up and breaking down. I'd rather use tri-clamps. I figure nothing obviously should be under any sort of pressure in there anyway. Anyone use these high pressure clamps for any reason? I can't think of a good reason, but rather than just make assumptions I thought I'd ask. Thanks.

Maybe use them in situations where they will be semi-permanent - like for a bottom drain on an upside-down keg. Or, basically for things that you don't intend to disassemble on a regular basis.
